President's Welcome

Dr. McCabe leads the world's premiere shipboard education program, which has been promoting international education since 1963, visiting nearly 60 different countries to give students a truly unique and global education experience. Headquartered in Charlottesville Virginia, The Institute for Shipboard Education administers international education programs for students and learners of all ages. Dr. McCabe continues to position the Institute at the forefront of global education and advance the field of international education. McCabe writes and speaks frequently about the need for a global perspective amongst our emerging leaders and the imperative that they develop the knowledge and skills to address the most critical issues of our day.

From the Office of the President, Dr. McCabe, along with the Board of Trustees, is responsibile for setting the vision, direction, and establishing the Institute's strategic plan. In addition, the Office of the President is actively engaged in local and international relationship building in an effort to advance the field of internaitonal education and increase the number of individuals who particiapte in a global education delivers a unique comparative global learning experience.
