Extended Family Program

Students have the unique opportunity to join the "Extended Family Program" on each voyage so they have the support sometimes needed when far away from home. The program allows lifelong learners to "adopt" a group of students, with the intent to serve as mentors and to create an extended family. The lifelong learners are responsible for creating and initiating group activities. Past group activities included group lunches and dinners, shipboard activities, and in-port excursions.

This program has proven to be a win-win situation for students and their adopted family, and has resulted in many long-standing friendships that endure even after a voyage has ended.
