June 25, 2010: Severe weather in the central Virginia area has led to significant power outages and an interruption to online services, including portions of the Semester at Sea website. Affected services include the student application, MyVoyage portal, and alumni directory. Technicians are currently working to restore connectivity and full service is expected to be restored over the weekend. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Summer 2010 Voyage Departs Halifax, Nova Scotia

June 15, 2010: The 102nd Semester at Sea voyage sailed from Halifax, Nova Scotia today with 708 undergraduates representing 280 colleges and universities; 28 graduate students; 10 lifelong learners; and 66 faculty and staff. The voyage to North Africa and Europe will last 68 days and explore 8 ports in 7 countries. June 10, 2010: Semester at Sea's Forum on Global Engagement set sail from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida this evening for a four-day voyage to Halifax, Nova Scotia. Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, civil rights leader Julian Bond, educational policy reformer Sir Christopher Bond, and former Virginia governor Gerald Baliles are among the distinguished speakers aboard. The Caribbean Adventure Enrichment Voyage departs Nassau, Bahamas May 27 with calls on San Juan, Puerto Rico; Basseterre, St. Kitts; Roseau, Dominica; Bridgetown, Barbados; St. George's, Grenada; Port of Spain, Trinidad; Kralendijk, Bonaire; Willemstad, Curacao; and Oranjestad, Aruba before returning to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. June 10. May 5, 2010: The 101st Semester at Sea voyage returned to the United States today after its 109-day educational journey to 10 international destinations. The voyage community of approximately 700 undergraduates, faculty, staff, lifelong learners, and family members was greeted in Fort Lauderdale by hundreds of parents and friends. Watching the MV Explorer campus sail far into the distance, with your child aboard, is an emotional experience for parents. Dwight and Jane Allison, founders of the Semester at Sea Parents Council, know the feeling all too well. The image describes a memory from 2005 when their oldest son, Dewey, sailed with Semester at Sea from Vancouver, B.C. Semester at Sea Participant Receives Prestigious Udall Scholarship
