Celebrating Our First 100 SAS Voyages

In Fall 2009, Semester at Sea celebrated its 100th voyage. To mark this important milestone and our enduring mission to educate individuals for leadership, service, and success, Semester at Sea is partnering with the Rotary Club of Prospect/Goshen, Kentucky and the Global Nomads Group to execute an international service learning project called the $100 Solution. Entirely student-driven, the project aims to empower young people and communities through small acts of sustainable giving. Students in two Semester at Sea courses led by Dr. Bernie Strenecky initiated $100 Solution service learning projects in India, Viet Nam, and Hong Kong. Global Nomads Group, using interactive technologies such as videoconferencing, will document and share the projects with classrooms around the world.
