All summer 2007 Semester at Sea students who are not native speakers of Spanish or fully proficient in Spanish will enroll in a one-credit Spanish conversation course. Each class will be designed to help students develop basic, intermediate, or advanced conversational skills in the Spanish language so that when they reach ports they will be able to speak, at differing levels, with the individuals they will encounter. Placement will be determined by last Spanish language course completed at UVa or score on the UVa on-line Spanish placement test.
