Groner, who is an expert on Asian religions and Buddhism, explores the Golden Pavillion in Kyoto and other remarkable cultural sites with fall 2008 participants. Listen as Groner describes the benefits of hands-on learning and discovery as SAS participants apply on-ship classroom learning in the field.

Be part of the emotional send-off! This slideshow with audio depicts the June 15 embarkation of the Summer 2008 voyage from Halifax, Nova Scotia: the 96th voyage of Semester at Sea. With 583 student participants aboard, it represents the largest summer voyage in Semester at Sea history.
