Triangle Scholarship

This spring, engineering students as well as students from all majors will embark on Semester at Sea's first Maymester voyage . Participants will attend classes aboard the MV Explorer and complete fieldwork in 7 locations, including an exploration of the Panama Canal Expansion Project.

With a curriculum designed around the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, students will work in multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with partners in each country, working to understand the context of engineering problems in each place, and applying technology appropriate to cultural context.

This 26-day voyage will offer the opportunity to examine both the promise and the limitation of technology with Central America as a case study. For members of Triangle Fraternity, this multidisciplinary experience and relevant fieldwork will be a powerful complement to conventional engineering course work.

For the May 2011 short-term voyage, one full tuition scholarship will be awarded to a registered member of Triangle Fraternity.
