Fall 2010 SAS Voyage Blog

The Fall 2010 voyage may be over, but the journey for its 604 students, 63 lifelong learners and over 60 faculty and staff is just beginning.

Students who attended an independent service visit in Ghana were so moved by their experience that they have started a nonprofit and have pledged to return to save children from lives of slavery.

For most SAS students, a return home means the final SAS port of San Diego—the U.S. For SAS Fall 2010 voyager Thao Pham, her return "home" was back to her birthplace of Vietnam, which she left 13 years ago and hadn't seen since.

Students experience the similarities between the Japanese and their own day-to-day life in the homes of their hosts, and experience pop culture alongside their peers.
