"You are going to love the changes you see in your children when they return" was Dwight Allison's message to parents the evening before the Summer 2010 voyage departed. Dwight and his wife, Jane, are co-chairs of the Semester at Sea Parents’ Council.

How can SAS faculty and staff prepare students to step into the worlds of other people and cultures in a way that honors and respects those cultures? The Summer 2010 faculty and staff tackled that question during a four-day orientation from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. to Halifax, Nova Scotia that also included the 2010 ISE/SAS Forum on Global Engagement for Semester at Sea alumni.

The 102nd voyage of Semester at Sea will explore the academic theme "Visualization of the Mediterranean: Politics, Conflicts, and the Arts" during its 66-day journey to 8 countries in Europe and Northern Africa.
