Summer Voyage Returns to Norfolk, Va. After 67-Day Journey

The summer term marked the 102nd voyage of the SAS program with 708 college students, 28 graduate students, 10 lifelong learners, and 66 faculty and staff. The group traveled more than 11,500 nautical miles, and explored 8 international destinations—all the while taking and teaching a full load of courses that included intercultural field work in each port.

The summer voyage departed June 15 from Halifax, Nova Scotia and visited Barcelona, Spain; Civitavecchia / Naples, Italy; Dubrovnik, Croatia; Piraeus (Athens), Greece; Istanbul, Turkey; Alexandria, Egypt ; and Casablanca, Morocco before setting a course for the return port of Norfolk, Va.
