An Emotional Embarkation For All on the Summer 2012 Voyage

Embarkation is full of hellos and goodbyes. This feeling of excitement and anxiety isn’t reserved just for the students; parents, staff and faculty are full of emotions as well. The 110th Semester at Sea voyage of discovery begins now.

Julie Mills gets teary as she wishes her daughter, Tara, a student at the University of Oregon, a safe and enjoyable voyage.

Kelsey Marasch from Ohio University in Athens, picks up her carefully packed luggage which hopefully contains everything she will need while on the Summer 2012 voyage.
Austin and Westin Ray, two sisters from San Diego, California attend Chapman University in Los Angeles spend some time playing their guitars while waiting to board the MV Explorer. Their grandfather sailed on the Spring 1966 voyage making this an especially momentous occasion.
