Spring 2015 – By The Numbers
The Spring 2015 Voyage of Semester at Sea has been at sea for two weeks. We have already visited our first port of Hilo, Hawaii, crossed the International Date Line, and had 10 days of classes. But who makes up the Spring 2015 Voyage? Read on, with a bit of help from numbers found on the MV Explorer (bonus points for knowing where these numbers are located).
629 students from around the world are participating in the Spring Voyage.
The students represent 267 different universities worldwide.
University of Colorado Boulder is the most represented school, with 36 students.
There are 50 different majors represented, with business being the most declared (59 business students).
There are 84 students from outside the USA, the highest number of international students for any Semester at Sea voyage!
The 84 international students represent 46 countries around the world. The voyage is not just made up of students though…
There are 40 Faculty members on board,
30 Staff members,
and 42 Lifelong Learners, adults with the desire to learn by participating in classes, field programs, and seminars. We cannot forget the 84 family members traveling with faculty and staff as well.
