Ho Chi Minh: What’s In a Name?

For Dr. Pamela Hollie’s International Mass Communications course, the classroom came to life
during their field class in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. “We learned a lot about Ho Chi Minh, which
is significant in our class because we talk a lot about why Saigon got changed to Ho Chi Minh
City in 1975,” said University of California, Davis, voyager Danielle McCabe.
Field classes are essential elements of all courses offered on Semester at Sea. They take what
students are learning in the classroom and make it a reality, something that makes studying
abroad with Semester at Sea so unique. Every student on Semester at Sea gets to take part in
at least four field classes throughout the voyage, each one more intriguing than the next.

“Each one more intriguing than the NEXT.” Something’s not right there.
