We will visit a Brazilian-based, multinational business and a state travel office to learn firsthand the challenges of marketing to and communicating with a global customer and employee base. Our first stop will be the world headquarters of H. Stern, the largest manufacturer and seller of gemstones and jewelry in Brazil. We will tour H. Stern's manufacturing facilities and watch as employees create jewelry from a selection of Brazilian gemstones. There will be an opportunity to meet with H. Stern executives who manage H. Stern's external and internal communication functions. For lunch, we will join students in Professor Carvalho's "Foundations of International Business" class for a meeting with representatives of the Canadian trade office in Rio de Janeiro.
