Introduction to architecture, sculpture, and painting (as well as other art forms) from Europe, Africa, and the Americas from Renaissance to modern times. This course is intended to provide conventional survey coverage for transfer credit but also to emphasize regions and sites that students on Semester at Sea can visit during stays in port. Thus it will provide additional attention to colonial cultures in the Americas as well as greater emphasis on the British Isles and Spain.

Rubens' Antwerp Intensive walking tour of principal highlights of art and culture, including printed books (Plantin-Moretus), cathedral (altarpieces), Rubens' House, History of Antwerp Museum (MAS), and historic home with art (either Rockox House or Mayer van den Bergh Museum)
