The world views of what are of the referred to as the Abrahamic Religions – Judaism, Christianity, and Islam – will be engaged in this course. Each will be explored through their history, sacred stories and writings, central beliefs, ethics, rituals, and contemporary issues. Lecture, primary source material, discussion, case studies and film will help to inform the study of these traditions. In port assignments will help students to apply what is learned in the classroom to the ways in which these traditions are practiced in contemporary settings.
