Please join the Pittsburgh Alumni Chapter for a morning of local service with global impact at Global Links. We will sort medical surplus supplies for packaging and shipment to countries in need. Please plan on wearing clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and closed-toe shoes. Friends, family, and prospective students are welcome. Children under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent. Parent will need to sign a release the day of the event.
A little about Global Links: Global Links was founded by three women including Kathleen Hower, a Semester at Sea Alumna who sailed on the Spring 1988 voyage. Global Links works with public health authorities to strengthen health systems for measurable impact in the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere. The Global Links staff work with Pittsburgh’s healthcare professionals and the community at large to build systems that divert valuable surplus from landfills. They convene a vibrant community of more than 2,500 volunteers who assess, prepare and pack materials at their headquarters in Pittsburgh.
