On Sunday, November 26, 2017, an explosion in Ningbo (a city approximately 130 miles South of Shanghai) injured or killed at least 30 people, according to a USA Today article.
Ningbo is not an area frequented by Semester at Sea students, faculty, staff, or Lifelong Learners. Because there are neither field programs scheduled nor independent travel reported for this region during the MV World Odyssey’s call in Shanghai, we therefore have no reason to believe that any Fall 2017 Voyager would be affected by this incident.
