Adam Walsh has spent the last 7+ years at Colorado State University in multiple academic and professional communication roles. While finishing his Master’s of Science in Public Communication and Technology, Adam supported the Journalism and Technical Communication (now Journalism and Media Communication) as a teaching assistant for a professional and technical writing course, and assisting in the launch of a live broadcast production course in a partnership with the CSU Athletics Marketing department. In addition, Adam worked as a graduate research assistant on multiple research projects focused on human-computer interactions and user experiences in online educational environments. Adam’s research, teaching, and video production background, all involve human engagement with visual communications and educational environments. Adam is excited to bring this experience and enthusiasm to the Semester at Sea community, and support students as they expand their global engagement during the Global Studies course and overall voyage.
For the last 3 years, Adam has worked as the CSU Surplus Property’s Online Sales and Marketing Specialist, where he supports the University System in the management and sales of University assets nearing their end-of-life, and coordinating the department’s marketing of services and events. This role allowed Adam to focus his communications experience on University sustainability efforts, as well as marketing ethically responsible consumer practices.
Adam is passionate about camping, hiking, running, and simply being outdoors exploring the natural beauty in northern Colorado (and beyond) with a camera in tow. Originally from Indiana, Adam is proud to call Fort Collins his home with his wife, Marianna, their dog, Apollo, and cat, Albi. Adam is looking forward to capturing more of the world with his camera, exploring new cultures and food, and being a part of the Semester at Sea community as they embark on this new adventure.
