A Midwestern girl, Alex was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. She attended the University of Cincinnati and earned her B.A in Spanish in 2014. During Fall of 2013 she participated in Semester at Sea’s 50th anniversary voyage and has been determined to make her way back to the program.
After receiving her bachelor’s degree she joined Teach for America where she proudly served the disadvantaged children of her hometown by providing them with equitable educational opportunities. After three years of teaching and a short stint as an au pair in the Netherlands, Alex returned to the University of Cincinnati to pursue her master’s degree in Higher Education Administration. She hopes to work in student and/or academic affairs and eventually pursue her PhD.
Outside of her love for education, Alex enjoys music, dancing, knitting, games, and reading. She joins us less than a month after graduation and is excited to explore new and old ports while contributing to the shipboard community.
