Alice Husted grew up in Houlton, Maine, where her parents are doctors in Orthopedics and Pediatrics, giving her early exposure to the medical field. Alice now lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a Master’s Degree is Psychiatric Nursing from MGH Institute of Health Professions, and a B.A. in Psychology from the College of the Holy Cross. Her RN and NP clinical experience included time at Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Rhode Island Hospital. She currently works at Thriveworks Counseling, where she provides patient care within a collaborative team practice that serves psychiatric patients across the life span. Alice also has a special interest in integrating various forms of treatment including western traditional medicine, meditation, and mindfulness.
Some of Alice’s favorite travel experiences have been in the Philippines, Italy, and Croatia, and she is excited to now see more of the world through the uniqueness of a Semester at Sea voyage. After hearing her partner Jonathan speak highly about the transformative experiences that Semester at Sea creates and after meeting several faculty and staff members from previous voyages who reflected on the meaningfulness of their work, Alice is thrilled to now be a part of a Semester at Sea voyage. She is looking forward to contributing to what everyone says is the most powerful aspect of the voyage, the shipboard community.
