Amanda is a licensed psychologist and has worked in higher education for ten years. After she earned her BA in Psychology from The University of the South (Sewanee), she received her MA in Counselor Education and EdS in Marriage and Family from the University of Florida. She was awarded her PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver. While in graduate school she volunteered with the Alachua County Rape Crisis Center and was named volunteer of the year. Amanda has worked both domestically and internationally. Most recently, she spent three years working for American universities in the Middle East. She has sailed on a prior voyage in the spring 2004 as a Mental Health Specialist. She is very excited about sailing again, as it is an opportunity to combine two of her passions: working with students and travel. Upon completion of the voyage she will have traveled to over 80 countries. She also enjoys yoga, running, scuba diving, and spending time with her friends and family when not exploring the world.
