Amy Borngrebe is excited to be joining the Spring 2018 voyage as the Social Media Coordinator.
Amy graduated from Colorado State University and received a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Media Communication with an emphasis in Environmental Affairs. She is a social media guru, and has professional experience in branding, marketing and graphic design. She has worked in international-focused environments in the past, including the Office of International Programs at CSU which makes Semester at Sea a perfect fit.
Born in Portland Oregon, Amy is a Colorado “native” transplant, having grown up and spent the last 11 years in Fort Collins, Colorado. When she’s not on the Gram, Amy enjoys hiking, reading, singing and spending quality time with friends. She is always on the hunt for a new podcast or the next best breakfast spot. Her passion for international issues was sparked in high school during which she was a volunteer for the Iraqi Young Leaders Program, which brings 20 college students from Iraq for a summer to learn about American culture. Since then, she has also been involved in volunteer programs with the International Rescue Committee. It’s these interactions that opened up her mind to a whole new way of thinking and ignited her desire to become a foreign correspondent one day. She might not be there yet, but her hopes for this voyage is to gain not only new experiences, but perspectives as well.
