Spring 2019: A Voyage of Discovery
Assistant Director of Field Programs

Amy Lepp

Amy’s love of travel and cross-cultural exchange began at the age of 21 on her first international adventure working at a summer camp in France. Since then, Amy has devoted much of her time to working with students and providing life changing, international experiences for teens and young adults across the globe.

Amy received a B.S. in Recreation, Parks and Tourism Administration with a minor in Music from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. During this time, Amy worked on campus planning events, studied Spanish in Central America, conducted research on empowering children living in extreme poverty in Kenya and participated in the Disney College Program at Disney World in Orlando. Amy continued on in her studies to obtain a Master’s Degree in Student Affairs and College Counseling. Because of her passion for international experiences and the impact it can have on one’s life, she focused her Master’s project on how to create global citizens out of university students.

Since completing grad school, Amy’s professional career has consisted of working at international events such as the World’s Fair and U.S. Open; serving as an Academic Counselor at Fresno State, Cal Poly, and Reedley College; leading service-learning programs in Tanzania, England and the Galapagos; working as an international exchange student coordinator and orientation teacher; hiring and training staff for international programs with Global Leadership Adventures; working at the front desk at Walt Disney World Resorts; and coordinating Dual Enrollment Programs at Reedley College. Most recently, Amy sailed on the Spring 2019 Semester at Sea Voyage as the Assistant Director of Field Programs and so she is so thrilled to have the opportunity to return to the ship for another life-changing experience in the fall!

While not working and traveling, Amy enjoys hiking, biking, tennis, singing, dancing, playing piano and hand bells, going to the mountains, volunteering at Project Survival Cat Haven, and spending time with family and friends.
