Andrea Roberts is an Associate Professor of Commerce at the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce. She received her Ph.D. in Accounting from The George Washington University. She worked for Ernst & Young as both an auditor and consultant prior to her doctoral program. Prior to joining the faculty at McIntire she was on faculty at Boston College. Her research relates to financing reporting and governance issues around charitable organizations. She has published articles on nonprofit topics in scholarly journals, including The Accounting Review; Accounting Horizons; and The Journal of Government and Nonprofit Accounting. She currently serves as an Associate Editor for Issues in Accounting Education and is on the editorial board of The Journal of Government and Nonprofit Accounting. Andrea is also currently the President of the American Accounting Association’s Diversity Section. She loves to travel and to this point much of it has been with family and friends. However, just this past spring, she accompanied a group of McIntire students to Brazil for a “Doing Business in Brazil” trip. Andrea is looking forward to the time she will spend with lots of students, for a longer periods of time, in many different places.
