During the Summer 2005 Semester at Sea voyage, Andrew was an excited student who was experiencing life abroad for the first time. It was through this voyage that Andrew discovered his love of art and travel and he vowed to return to the ship as a staff member one day. He is very excited to be a part of the Fall 2014 voyage and experience many new and exciting places.
For the past three years, Andrew has been serving as a Residence Director at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Prior to being in western Massachusetts, Andrew attended graduate school at Seattle University, worked at Bates College in Maine, and completed an undergrad degree in Art History at Chapman University in southern California. Andrew’s professional practice has been focused on social justice, developing meaningful relationships with students, and promoting personal responsibility. Andrew also serves as the Educational Program Coordinator for NASPA Region 1’s GLBT Knowledge Community and is certified by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to provide workshops and education related to sexual assault, bystander intervention, and intimate partner violence.
When not working, Andrew loves to read, travel, play video games, do yoga, and explore new restaurants and coffee shops. He is excited to meet everyone on the ship and create an amazing experience for everyone!
