Starting from very humble beginnings where Angela’s secondary school economics teacher was her only mentor, she wanted to be a teacher of economics. Guided by a tripartite goal of a career in Economics research, teaching and policy development, Angela pursued a Bachelor of Education in Social Science (Economics and Mathematics) at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana and has completed a Masters of Philosophy (MPhil) in Economics at the University of Ghana. As part of her ambition to acquire classroom experience as a teacher, she took advantage of a requirement of her four-year Bachelor’s degree that allowed her to teach Economics and Mathematics at a high school. She later proceeded to teach at the diploma level. Angela currently works as a research assistant at the United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER) office at the University of Ghana and has a forthcoming publication in Journal of Climate and Development.
