Barb is excited to join her third SAS voyage, having sailed on the Fall 2015 and Spring 2017 voyages, as a counselor on the Medical/Health team. She retired as a clinical psychologist after working for 15 years at the University of Mary Washington, as Associate VP of Student Affairs and Director of CAPS, and 11 years with the Federal government, as a psychologist and EAP Chief. As a retiree, she is a volunteer for Red Cross Disaster Mental Health and for the OLLI program at UNC-Wilmington.
Barb earned her undergraduate degree from Goucher College, a J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law and her Psy.D. from Baylor University. She especially enjoys working with young adults and international students as they explore the wider world and come to know and understand themselves and others, in new, and often exciting, ways.
Barb will be sailing with her partner, Steve Hennessy, a retired engineer, Red Cross Disaster volunteer and amateur radio enthusiast. Both are very much looking forward to joining the entire Spring 2023 SAS community.
