Barb is a clinical psychologist who is thrilled to be making her second SAS voyage in Spring 2017. She retired from full-time work with the Department of Defense in 2015 though she continues to work part-time as a federal contractor. Prior to joining Federal service, Barb spent almost 15 years at the University of Mary Washington, as Director of CAPS and Associate VP of Student Affairs. Barb received her Psy.D. from Baylor University, a J.D. from University of Maryland School of Law and her A.B. in economics from Goucher College. Professional interests include deployment psychology, suicide prevention and resilience enhancement. She enjoys travel, the arts, biking and kayaking. Barb, who will be sailing with her husband, Steve Hennessy, lives in northern Virginia with several shaggy rescue dogs.
