Beth is quite excited about the prospect of serving as a dependent children coordinator during this voyage. She has had a forty-year career as an educator. Beth has a master’s degree, licenses, and certifications in both remedial and diagnostic education and gifted and talented education. Both positions have involved organizing and coordinating many groups as well as working with parents, teachers, and other staff. Her skills in organization and coaching have played out for over thirty years as a coach/coordinator and board member of creative problem solving organizations such as Odyssey of the Mind, and Destination Imagination. Beth has also overseen teams who have won state competitions and gone on to world competition. As such, she feels she will have much to bring to the position in the way of organizing and directing the learning activities of children and youth in collaboration with their mentors and parents during the voyage.
