Dependent Child Coordinator

Bill Jacox

Bill currently works in Oakland, CA as the Senior Training & Organizational Development Specialist for Alameda County where he plans, designs, coordinates and delivers a wide variety of training and development programs and provides professional organizational development consultation. He specializes in leadership development, staff development, team building, change management, and team alignment, culture, engagement, and performance.

 

Bill previously directed Adventure Associates, Inc., working with corporate clients to plan and deliver customized team development programs nationwide and also created and led the Leadership and Team Development Program at the University of California, Irvine.

 

Bill served for many years as an outdoor educator for Outward Bound and other organizations prior to his first Semester at Sea voyage in 2002, where he served as a resident director. Bill sailed again in 2011 with wife Sunny and then two-year old Alex who was engaged with the children’s community on board. Bill has extensive international experience, having taught English in Korea and led sea kayaking and mountaineering trips in Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region.

 

Bill has a BA in Comparative Politics from the University of Puget Sound, an MS in Experiential Education from the University of New Hampshire, and a PhD in Leadership and Change Management from Antioch University.

 

Adept at creating and developing healthy teams and organizations, Bill hopes to help develop a fun and engaged community with the dependent children’s program.
