Brent Allred

Brent Allred is an Associate Professor of Strategic Management and International Business at The College of William & Mary, in Williamsburg, VA, where he has been since 1999. He earned a B.S. in Accounting and MBA (Finance) at Brigham Young University, and a Ph.D. in Strategic Management/International Business at The Pennsylvania State University. Professor Allred has traveled the world extensively, having lived in Belgium, The Netherlands, Hong Kong, Bulgaria, and New Zealand. He also had extended stays in several countries, including Uganda (2011), Estonia (2010), and Hungary (2008). He taught business courses at universities in Bulgaria, Australia, New Zealand, and Hungary. His work experience includes several years at companies in the technology sector, including Intel and Symantec. He has also consulted with several companies, including BASF. Professor Allred’s current research interests are in technology sourcing and patent rights. He has published in various journals, including the Journal of International Business Studies, Management International Review, the Journal of International Management, Academy of Management Executive, and the Journal of Product Innovation Management. He has won several student selected teaching awards at William & Mary, including the Undergraduate Business Program (2002, 2008), Full-Time MBA Program (2010), and Evening MBA Program (2004). He was also awarded the Graduate Student Teaching Award at Penn State (1999).
