Carla Rodriguez is a native Floridian who earned her Bachelor of Science in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences as well as her Master of Education in Student Personnel in Higher Education from the University of Florida. Most recently, she has served as Program Coordinator in the Center for Multicultural Affairs and advisor for the Inter-Greek Council (IGC) with the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She has also had the privilege of working as academic advisor for international students at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, FL and with orientation at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Carla is passionate about cultural exchange and cultivating environments where diverse perspectives and experiences can be shared. She is a self proclaimed “artivist” and enjoys blending her love of social justice with her love of dance, photography, and other art forms in order to create positive social change. Having traveled to Italy, the Czech Republic, and the Caribbean, Carla is very excited to be a part of Semester at Sea’s 50th Anniversary voyage. She welcomes the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue, foster community, and encourage students to step outside their comfort zones while on this journey.
