Resident Director

Carlos Solorzano

Carlos has spent the last two years working as a Resident Director at Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) in Parkland, WA.   Prior to PLU, he attended the University of Denver, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (‘09), Master of Business Administration (’09), and Master of Arts in Higher Education (’11).   With such a varied background, Carlos learned firsthand about the power of fusing different ideas, perspectives and skills together to create positive change in your community.

In addition to learning from such different academic settings, Carlos was also able to learn a great deal about himself and others while spending multiple summers as a child in Guatemala and El Salvador with his extended family, as well studying abroad in Australia in 2006.  After such a long break from international travel, Carlos is ecstatic about his first voyage with Semester at Sea.  He hopes to make the most out of this unique opportunity to learn, teach, and grow as he explores the globe alongside like-minded students, staff, faculty, and lifelong learners.
