Carly Jurach, photographer for the Summer 2014 voyage, graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with her BFA in Photography in 2011. During her time there she received recognition for her solo shows Somewhere In Between (2011) and Where the Winged Things Are (Voted Best Gallery show in Savannah, 2010). Carly’s introduction into the life of living on a ship came from a freelance job with Discovery Channel’s Deadliest Catch, living onboard the F/V Wizard in September of 2012 and journeying from Seattle, WA to Dutch Harbor, AK. After that, the seas called her back and she left her own business behind in California to take a job as a private studio photographer for Norwegian Cruise Lines. At the conclusion of 2013, she will have spent 89 days at sea and 182 days in port. She anticipates the Summer 2014 voyage to be incredibly life enriching in ways that can only be brought about by travel, unique experience and living on a ship. She cannot wait to document the one-of-a-kind relationships, amazing cities and the camaraderie created by a learning environment like no other.
