Assistant Librarian

Catherine Shreve

Duke University

Catherine is the library liaison at Duke University for Public Policy and Political Science. Her favorite part of the job is working with undergraduates — creating research guides, doing library instruction for specific courses, and meeting for individual research consultations. Because public policy touches on most fields, Catherine has a lot of experience answering interdisciplinary questions.

Although this is Catherine’s first SAS voyage, she grew up in Hawaii and Virginia, and loves to travel. She has accompanied the Duke in Venice summer program; taken a month-long Spanish immersion course in Oaxaca, Mexico; and vacationed in several other places abroad. While at home she leads a community sing of traditional music, and does blues, swing, and contra dancing. She hopes to collect a folk song to share from each country we visit.
