Christy graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Psychology and an emphasis on exercise and movement science. She has been working as a real estate broker for the past 12 years in her hometown of Portland, Oregon. Christy has created a real estate team of 5 people and oversees their marketing, training, and general coordination of all of their daily real estate activities. Of course, this includes serving the needs of their real estate clients. Creating relationships, looking at homes, and being on the run makes for a full life.
At the same time, she also manages a busy household which contains two active boys in addition to her husband, Scott Marshall (who will be traveling as a faculty member on Semester at Sea Spring Voyage 2017). Coordinating activities for the boys include knowledge about parkour, theater courses, competitive indoor rock climbing, competitive soccer, lacrosse, play dates with the neighborhood families, neighborhood emergency preparation meetings and volunteering at the elementary school.
Having had many opportunities to travel with the family, this seemed to be a perfect fit. Coordinating the programming for the dependent children’s community during the voyage will be a fun new adventure.
A few of Christy’s favorite things include the activities of the family, traveling, camping, cycling, spinning, running, hiking, reading, and enjoying the many food delights of our amazing Pacific Northwest city. The city of Portland offers an amazing quality of coffee roasters, breweries, and creative culinary delights. Portland spoils its residents time and time again. Christy looks forward to the adventures ahead and the creation of our on board community.
