Cindy Zomchek is the Director of Field Experience and Community Outreach for the College of Education at the University of Colordo Colorado Springs. Cindy initially sailed on SAS as a Resident Director the Fall 1986. Subsequently, Cindy sailed as the Director of Student Life/Dean of Students in Fall 93, Spring 2000, Spring 2004, Summer 2005, Fall 2008, and Spring 2010. Cindy also worked for ISE/SAS as the Assistant Director of University Outreach as well as assisting with Student Affairs from 2006 to 2011.This will be Cindy’s first voyage as the Lifelong Learner Coordinator and she is very excited to take a leave of absence from her role in Colorado to sail on the Spring Voyage. Cindy is originally from Wisconsin and prides herself on being a CHEESEHEAD (go Packers)! Cindy lives in Colorado Springs with her husband Jim, and their two dogs (they also have 7 amazing grandchildren!). Cindy has a Masters in College Student Development from the University of Wisconsin – Lacrosse and a Master’s in Counseling from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs and has worked in the area of Student Affairs for most of her career. She also volunteers with Semester at Sea as the Colorado Alumni Chapter Rep as well as being a member of the Faculty/Staff Alumni Council. She cannot wait until January 7th to say “Anchor’s Aweigh”!
