Claire Ruswick is the Reference and Instruction Librarian at Mary Baldwin College. In her current job she helps students of all ages with their research at Grafton Library at the reference desk, in class, and online. She teaches Information Literacy, an undergraduate course focused on using library resources and advanced research techniques, and co-teaches an online course on information literacy and service-learning for adult students. Although she was a history and music major in college, she currently serves as a liaison to the social science, science, and math departments at Mary Baldwin, ordering new materials for the library in these subject areas. Her favorite part of her job is finding new ways to make library research easier for students, which she looks forward to doing with the Semester at Sea community. This will be her first time sailing for an extended period of time, and she’s eager to learn the ropes of sea librarianship.
