D. Tobiassen Baitinger is Associate Registrar at Colorado State University. D. works directly with students assisting with all aspects of the academic experience from course registration to degree conferral. D. holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Plymouth State College in New Hampshire and a Master of Arts in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. D. has worked with students and faculty for over twenty years.
D. began her career in Residence Life as a Hall Director and Area Coordinator at Ripon College, Bowling Green State University and then Colorado State University where she had the privilege of living with and assisting thousands of undergraduate students. As Assistant Director of Residence Life, D. collaborated with faculty to build learning communities at Colorado State University. In her position as Academic Advisor, D. guided students through university processes and engaged in conversations about academics, personal wellness, experiential education, study abroad and post-graduation plans.
Her work has been recognized with a Globie Award for her commitment to International Education, CSU’s Innovation Award, and the CSU Honors Adviser of the Year. D’s enthusiasm for assisting students to navigate the university experience will be a great resource for students during this voyage. D is looking forward to sharing this floating learning community adventure with students, faculty and staff on the Fall 2016 voyage of Semester at Sea!
