Daniel Merrill

Daniel is primarily a composer, performer and producer whose work focuses on immersive ethnomusicological studies and inter-cultural collaborative projects. His work with The Dead Rat Orchestra has featured on the BBC and been performed by the Britten Sinfonia and London Contemporary Orchestra. He in the past decade he has produced/co-produced nine albums drawing on highly contextualised understandings of folk traditions.
Undertaking numerous international collaborative projects, residencies and touring. have been at the core of his efforts. Daniel has performed throughout Europe, North America and the Mediterranean Arab Region (AMR). He is currently establishing an events production company to promote contemporary arts and music from the AMR in the UK.
Daniel has lectured in composition and contextual studies for Colchester Institute (University of Essex), and is an Associate Tutor at Goldsmiths College (University of London), where he specialises in international arts entrepreneurship.
