Dmitrii Strovskii

Dmitry Strovsky has a PhD in Political Science and is media
professor of the Journalism Faculty at Ural Federal University
in the city of Ekaterinburg, Russia. Dr Strovsky is in charge of
the Sequence of International Journalism and is responsible for
the Master’s program on Political Journalism at his faculty. He
is also a prolific author of a few books and numerous articles
published in Russian and English on various issues concerning
the historical and contemporary evolution of Russian mass
communications and especially journalism. He participated with
his papers on the above matters in many international
conferences. Strovsky has also received numerous fellowships
including Fulbright scholarship (2005) and has taught at
universities in the United States, Finland, Sweden, Czech
Republic, China and some other countries. In addition to this,
Strovsky is a columnist for the Ural version of Novaya gazeta,
one of very few liberal outlets in the contemporary Russia.
Strovsky’s brief biography is included in the yearly “Dictionary
of International Biography – 27th edition” (Cambridge: Melrose
Press Ltd, 1999 (UK) and some other international sources.
