Emily grew up in northeast Ohio and obtained her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the College of Wooster in Ohio. She worked in neuroscience research at the Cleveland Clinic for several years before deciding to become a nurse practitioner. This brought her to the East Coast where she attended Yale University to get her Master’s in Nursing and board certification as a nurse practitioner. After living in Connecticut for many years, the mountains were calling and she moved to Fort Collins five years ago where she started working in student health at Colorado State University and has been there ever since. She absolutely loves working with college students and has clinical experience/interest in women’s health, transgender care, eating disorders, and urgent care. She also obtained her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Northern Colorado.
Emily loves hiking, camping, biking, music, delicious beer, cooking, and her dogs. She also loves traveling and meeting new people wherever she goes. This will be Emily’s first voyage on Semester at Sea and she is thrilled to be joining an amazing team for this adventure.
