Erik Jaanimagi is currently a Field Instructor at Cal-Wood Education Center in Jamestown, Colorado. Cal-Wood is a non-profit education organization specializing in residential environmental education. Primarily, Erik works outside with school aged students teaching different aspects of environmental science including; geography, history, fire and forest ecology. Working in the field of education, Erik has had the chance to work for the National Park Service in Utah, New Hampshire State Parks in rural NH and now here in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Erik is grateful for the opportunities to work in diverse and beautiful places in the U.S. and abroad. In 2007, he graduated from the University at Buffalo, with a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology and a Minor in French.
Erik has spent over most of his adult life working with kids of all ages; mostly in an environmental or outdoor Education setting. He is excited at the prospect of sharing the Semester’s cultural and geographical experiences with the Faculty, Staff and their children. More importantly, Erik is looking forward to leaving land-locked Colorado, some time on the open sea, and eating his way around the world!
