Grant Hurley will join Semester at Sea from Monte Vista, Colorado. Grant received his undergrad education from Adams State College in Southern Colorado, and his MD from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He has over 30 years of medical practice experience including 15 years as a family doctor in rural San Louis Valley Colorado and 15 years has a physician and director of the Emergency Department at San Louis Valley Regional Medical Center in Alamosa, Colorado. He is currently an emergency physician at Conejos County Hospital in La Jara, Colorado. In addition he enjoys volunteering as the medical director for the local ambulance service, ski area and paramedic school. He is certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Grant Enjoys the outdoors in any capacity, especially river rafting, horse packing, hiking and skiing. He is thrilled to have the opportunity to sail with SAS, as is his wife, April, who will be joining him on this journey.
