Heather Matthews has been working as an advisor at Colorado State University since 2007. She loves working with students to build community, build confidence, build their networks, and make meaning around their decisions in college.
As an undergraduate, Heather studied German and lived abroad in Germany for three years (one year in Munich for study abroad and two years in Hamelin—the Pied Piper town)! Then she got a master’s degree in Counseling and Career Development. During the Semester at Sea term, she is most excited about connecting with those onboard and being out in the world as it emerges from the global pandemic.
Aside from advising, Heather is also a working artist. She primarily works in textiles (fiber art) and paper and will definitely be making art on the ship!
