Jean has over 10 years of extensive experience working in the field of International Education. Raised on the tiny island of Guam, she never dreamt that her passion of travel and mentorship would become her life calling. Jean earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing and Advertising with a minor in Radio-TV-Film in 2004 from California State University, Fullerton. Later, she earned her Masters degree in Education and School Counseling from California Lutheran University in 2008.
Taking a hiatus to fulfill her dream of working for Semester at Sea, Jean currently holds a position as Chief Operating Officer for Beyond Student Travel. Prior, she has served as Academic Director, Director of Scholar Relations and In-Country Director for High School and College Programs in Asia, Europe, South Pacific, and the US under both the Global Young Leaders Conference and the International Scholar Laureate Program.
Jean also served as Consulting Program Manager for the Campus Ambassador Initiative for the International Scholar Laureate Program. In addition, she has worked with several U.S. Universities tailoring its college study abroad programs in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Antarctica. There she helped set-up multiple partnerships with U.S. Universities and NGOs creating award-winning study abroad programming.
During her work travels, she has spoken at national conferences, guest lectured and presented several Keynote addresses at various prestigious academic institutions across the United States. Her passion for travel, adventure, and motivating others to become “world changers” has led Jean to 6 continents and over 30 countries.
