Hello! My name is Jess Evora, and I am currently in my fourth year with the UCLA Residential Life family as a Resident Director for this amazing institution. I also currently serve as the Chair and Co-Founder of the USC Black Alumni Association Young Professionals. I completed my Master’s degree in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs at the University of Southern California (USC), and earned my bachelor’s degree in journalism from Syracuse University. Prior to arriving in Los Angeles, I had the privilege of working at Brown University, and as an Americorps member with City Year. I grew up in a Cabo Verdean household in the smallest state in the country (Little Rhody!), and that has shaped who I am today. The Cabo Verdean motto is “No Stress”. We value enjoying life and bringing people together. I look forward to carrying these ideas with me on the SAS Fall 2017 Voyage. I absolutely cannot wait to meet my future SAS family! Cheers to what will be the experience of a lifetime!
