Jonathan Paulo

Jonathan Paulo is the Education Librarian at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. As liaison to five departments within the College of Education, as well as the Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies Program, he manages the education and juvenile collections and provides library instruction sessions and research consultations to education students and faculty. Jonathan also provides reference service and research support to all students in Carrier Library, the main campus library at JMU. He grew up in Windsor Locks, Connecticut and received his B.A. in English from JMU. After graduating from JMU, Jonathan moved to San Diego, lived in various beach towns, and worked at a hotel in the downtown Gaslamp Quarter. Jonathan also filmed and edited video, wrote songs, and performed in coffee shops around San Diego. In 2007 he began a graduate program in Library and Information Science at San Jose State University, and in 2009 he received his MLIS. After initially working at Palomar College in San Marcos, CA, he returned to JMU in 2010, no longer a student but now a faculty member, in his current position as the Education Librarian. His professional interests include instruction and information literacy, academic culture, mobile technologies, freshman orientation, video tutorials, and promoting library services. Having traveled across the country multiple times and seeing most of the United States, Jonathan is looking forward to the voyage overseas.
