Joseph Laycock holds a Masters Degree from Harvard Divinity School recently obtained his Ph.D. from Boston University. In 2011, he received Boston University’s award for outstanding teaching fellow in religion and theological studies. He is currently an adjunct professor at Piedmont Virginia Community College. Laycock has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles on Asian religions in America, new religious movements, and popular culture. He is also the author of Vampires Today: The Truth About Modern Vampirism (Praeger, 2009) and a blogger for the online magazineReligion Dispatches. Laycock has traveled in Thailand and Cambodia and spent time in India with the Central Institute for Higher Tibetan Studies.
