Julie Nanavati lives in Baltimore, Maryland, where she is the Information Literacy Coordinator for the Loyola/Notre Dame Library, serving Loyola University of Maryland and the Notre Dame Maryland University. Julie received her Masters of Library Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, and her B.A. in English from St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Prior to working at the Loyola/Notre Dame Library, she held the position of Liaison/Outreach Librarian for the Health Sciences and Human Services Library at University of Maryland, Baltimore, and Reference Librarian for the Maryland AIDS Administration. Professional interests include instructional design, information literacy, and the health sciences. Currently, she is co-publishing an article on information literacy assessment in the Reference Services Review journal. Favorite trips have included hiking the mid-Atlantic region of the Appalachian Trail to vacationing in Alaska. Her love of international travel has taken her to El Salvador as a faculty participant with Loyola’s Encuentra El Salvador Immersion program. She has also been on numerous trips to India, where she has traveled extensively, from her family’s home in Bangalore to New Dehli, Mumbai, and Chennai. Julie is very excited to be joining the Fall 2013 Voyage.
